I Left My HEART in LA

In case you haven't been to Los Angeles yet, here's the Travel Guide that you've asked for.

THINGS TO DO:

Abbot Kinney blvd - A lot of hipsters shops (e.g. Happy Socks) & cafes (Blue Bottle, Toms)

3rd Street Promenade - Famous touristy street in Santa Monica (from Urban Outfitters to Nordstorm). This is where the "instafamous" Brandy Melville is.

Disney Concert Hall - One of the famous music centre in LA, the stainless- steel building is marvellous by Frank Gehry and makes you 'WOW' for sure

Disneyland - Prepare to spend a whole day for two theme parks (Disneyland & Disney's California Adventure), Adventure Park is for adventurer, a lot of exciting rollercoasters and even 18+ for Swing Ferris Wheel (just saying haha)

Downtown LA - Art walk to see cool graffitis

Griffith Observatory - One of the movie scenes in La La Land, enjoy spectacular views of Los Angeles and the Hollywood Sign. But it's difficult to park up there, so be there earlier.

Hollywood Sign - Well, an essential instagrammable spot, but personally don't think that place is worth going

The Getty - Included both Getty Center and Getty Villa for largest collection of iconic art, please note that you have to pre-book tickets before you head there (personally I recommend Getty Center with their minimalistic architecture)

Getty Villa:

LACMA - Classic Art Museum in LA, near the famous Urban Light.

Melrose Avenue District - brings you through an interesting variety of sights and cultural aspects, a lot of cool wall arts (e.g. Paul Smith Pink Walls)

Santa Monica Pier - touristy spot but worth to visit at least once for their sunset view

The Broad - Another famous contemporary art museum that worth seeing, also don't forget to pre-book your tickets

Universal Studios - My fav ride in Mummy

UCLA- One of the top universities in the world and I would say the most beautiful campus too

Venice Canals / Venice beach - gorgeous homey area to walk through, and then Venice Beach is good for chilling with a cup of iced coffee and of course get tanned too

WHERE  TO EAT:

Egg Slut - Eggcellent Breakfast in the Grand Central Market but I went to the branch in Beverly Center... Wanna eat one more bite on the bacon, egg and cheese sandwich

In N Out - All over LA, went there right away (near LAX) after my flight from HK,  but the line is insane. Must order their secret menu:  Animal fries, Animal burgers and milkshakes

Urth Caffe - Super casual cafe, it’s always packed. Love their belgium waffles and green tea boba!

Einstein Bros. Bagels - Honestly couldn't found a legit bagel in HK, einstein bros bagel definitely won my heart, the honey almond cream cheese was the best as well as their cranberry bagel.

Blue Daisy Cafe - Laid-back restaurant that offers American breakfast with sweet and savoury crepes and don't forget their zucchini hash browns!

Poke Salad Bar - Hawaiian style in fresh sashimi bowl, yay or nay?

Blu Jam Cafe - Be patient if you need to queue up for these... the crunchy french toast is worth dying for...nom

Parks ppq - Calling for all meat lovers...the beef tartare is the must order dish! Beef are tender and juicy too.

Kang Hodong Baekjeong - Another popular korean bbq in K-town, sharing is always a good idea when there's a lot of meat!

IHOP - One of my favourite classic American brekkies in LA, hearty pancakes and avocado toasts.

DESSERTS:

Sidecar Donuts - BEST fresh high-end doughnuts!

Salt & Straw - unique ice cream flavors, try their sea salt & honey lavender

Beachy Cream - 'Bitches' don't cry when there's ice cream.

TAN - CHA - Red jade black milk tea with tiramisu puff cream 😋 that rich cheese foam 👌🏻👌🏻

BlackBall - I'm so into taro balls or mochi, Blackball is my top 1 craving for desserts. They are insanely good & chewy.

Sugarfina - The champagne flavor with sugar coated gummy bear is so addictive.

COFFEE:

Blue Bottle Coffee - Monday no longer 'blues', thanks to Blue Bottle. Sure to cure my caffeine cravings.

Alfred Tea - Known for matcha & the pink boba. Adorable inside with interesting neon sign, however the boba are extremely sweet.

Alchemist Coffee Project - Perfect hideaway from bustling city life. Mad Mocha & boston cream pie is recommended.

Although it's my fourth time visiting to LA, there's still a lot of places to explore. Hope you all enjoyed, If you have any questions to ask regarding the post, feel free to message me via IG Direct (skeatravelife) or email me skeatravelife@gmail.com. Till next time <3
